Mastering Hero Abilities: How Supers and Ultimates Work in Blitz of Battle

Blitz of Battle - Level And Upgrade

Your Super is the most powerful button in the game. Most players waste it — using it for a small advantage, on a target that's already dying, or simply because it was available. Learning to use your abilities well, and your Super in particular, is one of the fastest ways to climb in Blitz of Battle. Here's exactly how the ability system works and how to use every button at the right moment.

The Four-Ability System

Every hero in Blitz of Battle has four abilities, and each one has a distinct role in their kit. The first three are your bread-and-butter tools — used constantly throughout a fight. The fourth is your Super: a devastating ultimate that changes the outcome of a fight when timed correctly.

Understanding the role of each ability in the context of your hero's class is the difference between knowing the buttons and actually mastering the hero.

Know Your Kit Cold

Before anything else, learn the exact effect, range, and cooldown of all four of your hero's abilities. Players who lose fights they should win are usually still thinking about which button to press in the middle of the action.

Balec (Mage) ability overview:

  • Ability 1 (Damage): Direct magic damage — your most reliable trading tool
  • Ability 2 (AoE): Area-of-effect burst — use to punish grouped enemies
  • Ability 3 (Damage): Secondary damage tool with cooldown management
  • Super: Devastating burst — use only to swing a fight, not to add incremental damage

When your kit is second nature, your attention is free to read the enemy — and reading the enemy is where matches are won.

Ability Timing Beats Ability Spamming

The most common beginner habit is throwing abilities the instant they come off cooldown. This wastes their value and telegraphs your kit to the enemy.

An ability used at exactly the right moment — a stun the moment the enemy commits, a heal just before the burst lands — is worth three abilities thrown randomly. Hold your key abilities until they'll have maximum effect.

Vio + Balec chain scenario: Vio uses her slow ability at the moment the enemy carry is slightly out of position. The carry is stuck in the slow for 1.5 seconds. Balec immediately follows with AoE burst and then Super. The carry, unable to escape, takes the full combo. This only works because Vio held the slow until the right moment and Balec was ready to follow up immediately. If either ability was used on cooldown randomly, the chain never happens.

The Super: Your Match-Defining Button

The Super is the most powerful ability each hero has, and how you use it frequently decides the entire match. The cardinal sin is wasting it.

When to use your Super:

  • To secure a kill that wins the 2v1 or creates the objective window
  • To survive a lethal engage when your own health is critical
  • To win the fight that decides control of the objective

When NOT to use your Super:

  • On a target that's already at 10% health and would die from a basic attack
  • In a fight that doesn't lead to an objective
  • Because it just came off cooldown and you feel like it

Treat your Super as a resource you spend only when it changes the outcome. Every time you spend it for less than that, you've gifted the enemy a free window.

Baiting the Enemy Super

Just as your Super is precious, so is the enemy's. High-level play includes actively baiting out the enemy Super — making them think they need to use it — then fighting while it's on cooldown.

If you can make an enemy Balec burn their Super on a poor trade, the next fight belongs to you. Track whether each enemy has their Super available. It's one of the most valuable pieces of information in any engagement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is a Super in Blitz of Battle?

Super is each hero's fourth and most powerful ability — a devastating ultimate that can swing the outcome of a fight. How well you time it often decides the match.

Q: How many abilities does each hero have in Blitz of Battle?

Every hero has four abilities including the Super. The first three are used constantly; the Super is a high-impact ability saved for key fight-deciding moments.

Q: When should you use your Super in Blitz of Battle?

Use your Super only when it swings the outcome — to secure a kill that matters, survive a lethal engage, or win the fight that decides the objective. Wasting it on a minor advantage is a common, costly mistake.

Q: Should you save abilities or use them on cooldown?

Hold key abilities for moments where they have maximum effect rather than throwing them on cooldown. Well-timed abilities beat spammed ones and win exchanges against players with stronger individual mechanics.

Q: What does baiting a Super mean in Blitz?

Baiting a Super means forcing the enemy to waste their ultimate for little gain, then fighting while it's on cooldown. Tracking enemy Supers is among the most valuable tactical information in any fight.

Q: How does the Vio and Balec ability chain work?

Vio uses a slow or crowd-control ability to lock the enemy in place, then Balec immediately follows with AoE burst and Super. The chain deletes the target before they can react — it only works when timed in sequence, not simultaneously.
